Sharon was born and raised in Dover, NH. She pursued a degree in Music at the University of NH and spent years teaching instrumental music and directing bands in Massachusetts. Sharon and her husband Scott moved to Aiken 10 years ago and live on a small horse farm. Sharon, once an avid equestrian, now fuels her competitive spirit in dog agility and obedience trials with her lab, Riley.

It wasn’t until her retirement that Sharon picked up a paint brush for the first time. Far from a lifelong painter, she discovered her passion for visual art later in life, spurred by the encouragement and mentorship of her husband, himself an accomplished artist.

Sharon has cultivated a style marked by bold colors and a desire to capture the emotional essence of her subjects. Her paintings of pets, especially dogs, seek to reveal the spark of personality—she finds deep reward in bringing alive the light of love and life in a dog’s eyes. In her landscapes, Sharon delights in transforming ordinary scenes into vibrant, expressive moments, using unexpectedly inventive palettes to amplify water reflections and sunsets.

Sharon’s story is a testament to the possibilities that unfold when a lifelong teacher becomes a student once more, finding new inspiration and identity in a completely different creative discipline.
